What People are Saying About Carol Reinert

Divorce is never easy. Divorce for me was the same as experiencing one of the most devastating losses in my life. Add the most cherished people in your life to the mix and divorce can become a nightmare. My children are the most important people in my life. They come first and are my priority. They did not ask for their situation and I was determined to make sure they were protected.

Carol Reinert became involved in my life years ago. The El Paso County Court system appointed Carol to my life and to my children's lives. This blessing of mediation outside of the courtroom that included an appointed Parental Coordinator/Decision Maker was not an option I had ever heard of before. The PC/DM can make decisions regarding your children's schedule and well being that are considered court ordered and final. Carol became an advocate for my children and their safety.

Since the time that Carol became involved in my life she has remained unbiased and encourages equal time with both parents when it is reasonable for the children. Carol offers mediation sessions that are pressure free and never drama filled, she wouldn't allow it. Carol has an excellent way of cutting through the emotions and getting to what is important........the children of divorce.

— Colorado Springs Mother

"I have worked in family law in Colorado Springs since 1995.  I am a dually certified paralegal and mental health professional, and I specialize in working with parenting responsibility cases.  Without a doubt, I believe Carol to be one of the top parental responsibility evaluators in the state of Colorado.  In addition to her extensive training and experience, Carol has a special gift for working with children and just good down home common sense that she applies to every case she works on.  Her focus always stays, as it should, squarely on what is best for each child in each family.  She also has the rare skill of being able to effectively testify in Court as an expert witness.

In addition to her purposeful and skillful attention to each case, Carol also donates her time to many community groups whose mission it is to improve the quality of Court services for families.  She has been an outspoken advocate in our community as to the necessity for lawyers and mental health professionals to communicate in emotionally healthy ways and to work within the ethical practices and boundaries of our professions.  Long before I even started working in family law, Carol was working with the chief family law judge in El Paso County to establish the first collaborations between mental health professionals, lawyers and the Court which have resulted in much more effective solutions for families within our Court system.

Carol is always updating her professional skills through continuing education and always looking for new and creative ways to improve her work and our community by brainstorming with other family law professionals.  Our community has benefited tremendously by her presence among us, and we owe her a huge debt of gratitude."
